Not quite PC software, but no other section..

Anyone on it? Anyone want an invite? Dunno if I like it yet, but I'm trying. Need more folks to try it with.

It's like Facebook, e-mail, MSN all-in-one. I haven't seen it so I can't really say much about it. A mate of mine has it so I will have extra people to talk to when I get the invite through from Saib.

What he said. Hard to describe, really - not sure it's going to be as big as Google hopes, it's too complicated for most users. Using it around my house for collaborative documents, brainstorming, etc.

I added your hotmail addy to my invite list. Google sends them out every week or so, so you should get one soon.

You need to have or create a Google account, but it doesn't have to be email.

Ah okay, can do that when I get it. Will I be able to download/install it to as many of my machines as I want? That would probably end up as two or three.

It's a web app, no install. Once you setup your account, just browse to wave.google.com/ from any system

Yeah. Hooked up with a friend of a friend of a friend who used to live around here, random encounter in a public wave and we've been chatting. Also got a few friends on there. And the wife & I are planning out our first Thanksgiving at home in a big huge collaborative Wave with todo lists, recipes, etc. Fun stuff.

I read a cnet review the other day. He wasn't happy with the clutter once a wave has a lot of activity. He also didn't like the not so real time chat. What you think Saib?

Eh.. It's an awesome concept, but very rough around the edges. They're building it around an entirely new graphic style - evidently destined to be the new look for all their apps eventually. It's got promise, but buggy for now. Don't think it lends itself well to chat if only because there's no notification, other than a flashing tab (and that may just be Chrome even).

Now, my GF and I are using it to collaborate on shopping lists, todo lists for the house, etc. Works well for that, better than any of the collaborative document editing functions I've seen in suites like MS Office or Google Docs. I'm enjoying it for that, if nothing else. It still might grow up into something cool one day.

Want an invite? They reupped me.. Got down to 5 or so, then back up to 18

Even invited myself a few times on various addresses so I have a few waiting in my inbox.
