Yay, new wheels...

2005 Honda Metropolitan. Friend of mine bought it new (still sitting around at the dealership - sure sign we live in B.F.E. considering how fast these are selling out elsewhere) a few weeks ago. One test drive and I was hooked. Saturday he was going to ride down to the dealership with me to see if they had anymore left, but at the last minute he decided he wanted to upgrade to an Italian scoot (Lambretta, same company that makes the Vespa) so he sold me his Honda. 60 miles on it when I got it, already just a hair under 90 - I'm lovin' it. Awesome way to get around. 100mpg. My work is a mile away, the grocery store and convenience store are a mile away, a few friends are within a couple miles. If I really want to cruise, I can be at my mom's or a few more friends' houses within 30 minutes (15 miles).

I gave a good cleaning up after work, but it was dusk by the time I snapped the pictures so this doesn't really do it justice.. Much shinier in real life. :D
Wow, here I would get killed by crazy drivers.

Funny thing here .. In town drivers are more laid back than they are if I were to head down to Baltimore or DC. But highway -- I'd take Balto or DC any day over the idiots up here in the boonies. They're even cockier on the road than the city drivers, but seem less skilled, more impulsive and less polite.

Example.. Up here I'll be cruising along in the fast lane, and at the last minute a car will pop out of the slow lane to run 10 mph slower than me. They've usually been following whoever they passed for miles, and just had to pass when I came along. And passing somehow involves brake lights and dirty looks at me after they move over and I drive on. Down the road, that same situation.. They usually seem to wait it out. Or if traffic is really jammed tight and they have to squeeze in in front of me, there's a blinker to warn me and I get a "thanks" wave after they squeeze in.

Just seems like up here, everyone drives like they are the only person on the road. In the city, they work together more to keep everyone moving along.

Off my soapbox... I'll be good on the scooter up here, not fast enough to get into any rough traffic. Just for zipping around town.

Scooters are legally only supposed to go up to 50kmph (35mph) over here so technically you shouldn't be the one to cause an accident unless you screw with the workings. Just look out for all the dangerous people :P

49cc scooters like mine are only supposed to go 35mph here too - don't tell anyone. ;) Seriously, I only go over 35 on one or two steep downhills, the rest of the time it won't come close.

I'm having so much fun on this that I'm saving up now for the motorcycle safety course and I think I have my girlfriend convinced to let me upgrade to a 150cc model after I pass. :)

Hehe, I've always wanted to learn to ride motorbikes but my Mum thinks their unsafe so she won't provide the money I'd need to learn and to buy. Good friend of mine used to ride loads, would go places on it (long distances) but he committed suicide :(

My car (mine was dirty so I took one from the net that looks just like it) 2007 Honda Civic Si.  They have been on me to get a Sion tC but I like the Si just fine.  If I was going to change it would probably be a Smart Car Brabus Edition.

yes I agree I like the civic a lot, my only complaint is I can't speed shift from 1st to 2nd without grinding.  I don't believe its normal but don't want to leave it at the dealer for three weeks to be fixed.

Maybe you can't shift? :)

3 weeks?  That's too long, all they have to do is drive the car, and recreate the issue, and tear it down and replace the gears, that would take about 1 week.
