I grew up in Porsche 914s.  I'm not afraid of small cars.

Yeah, but a Cooper is a real car, unlike a PT .. Neon with a body kit. ;)

Oddly I don't think I have any pics of my current project. Here's a shot of what I hope it looks like in a few years:

Currently looks a bit shabbier.

And the other ..

I've been a vw/porsche guy my whole life.  Three 914s, three bugs, was looking the other day, but to put it plainly, its hot here.  I need air conditioning.  However, if I lived where you did that would be a different story.  That van is CLEAN.
I also would like to get a Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite some day.

That van is clean - can only hope mine turns out that nice. Body is fairly straight, and before me it was a single owner vehicle for 37 years - guy loved it, and took decent care of it. Currently needs paint and some minor rust repair though, need an interior (wasn't much there and I gutted it to insulate).

That Austin Healey is sharp - haven't seen them before.

While I'm editing typos anyway.. I've always been a VW guy too, though this is my first air cooled. 82 Rabbit, 86 Jetta, 97 Jetta, 06 Jetta. Some day I'd love to pick up a 70s 911 project car too, though I haven't had the pleasure yet.

The problem with 911s is the cost of motor rebuilds.  A bug 300-500.  A 911 5000-10000.  Though I have always loved 911s make sure when you get one it has just had the motor freshly rebuilt.  Then you can drive it forever......

Actually, if I ever had the spare cash for a 911 project (Lotto, maybe? :)), I would go electric. Something like this: http://www.electroauto.com/gallery/911.shtml

As much as I like the 911s, they don't seem popular for the electric conversions - more 914s there. I might come around in time.

I've always been interested in electric conversions (I'm an Electrical Engineer).  I noticed it only had a 15 mile range.  That wouldn't work for me. But the idea is sound.
