Kaspersky blocks installation of some games, and Norton is a fail.

I love AVG, so simple and free

I dont understand what people hate about Norton. I use it with no affect on what Im doing at the time. Works fine for me.

Apparently Everyone just fears it will slow their system down and don't want to try the NEW

YES   2008  and predecessors Have slowed down the machines

But now It just depends on what you buy.  I  have been doing PC Repairs and Virus removal for customers for about 2 years now, and Have noticed a great change to Norton through the years,

Internet Security 2009 and 2010, will not slow down the machine even if you have 512MB of RAM, I've ran it on a couple of customer's machines and haven't seen a slow down after I tweaked their machines.
The Firewall doesnt bug you much either.

And If you looked further into it... The software from the Antivirus and Firewall uses same encodings as Malwarebytes, So it is aware of what is out there now.  The updates dont even bogg you down either.

**NOW** If you get Norton 360 on the other hand 2.0  or 3.0,  That stuff is crap. Slows you the day you install it, and it is a crap software that concentrates only on the "PC TUNE UP AND BACKUP" that is crap if it slows down the machine.  and it Also Neglects the firewall and antivirus so it doesnt do squat.

If you are thinking  Norton 360 and Internet Security, Firewall and antivirus software are the same??     WRONG

The Software inside INTERNET SEcurity is much stronger than the 360 and will not annoy you anymore and gets rid of the issues.  The Antivirus part of it as well has a stronger encoding than the 360.

--------------------

Now onto the other antivirus systems

AVG = CRAP  both paid and free, just sits on system and SAYS UR OK

PANDA  =  CANNOT DETECT BACKDOORS AND MAJOR TROJANS

AVAST  =  Very weak on finding  MyWebSearch and Zango viruses Hidden in Toolbars, as well as "Coupon Printer for windows" <<virus

TrendMicro  = Slows the machine and cant find crap and constantly Updates
Only good things from Trend Micro I suggest using if you are removing stuff
                              -  Hijack This
                              -  RootKit Revealer

LavaSoft Ad-Aware =  Is no longer on the Top lists of  Malware/Virus Removers, coding is old and cannot protect you

CA    =  Same Level as  AVG

Kaspersky  =   Is the Rival of Norton, so far so good program does its job, but not easy to go through the Interface

Webroot SpySweeper =  No Longer a great program, too strong of a utility that eats lots of RAM no matter the machine, and cannot protect any longer

------------------------------
Good Programs to have:
------------------------------

CCleaner  = Keep it up to date, I use version 2.27, cleaning Registry Errors along with Cookies/Cache

Malwarebytes Anti Malware =  Glad Deadman loves this program now ^_^;  very good program to have keep it up to date as well

SUPERAnti Spyware =  Only good to have when you think you have a heavy virus; but it will slow your PC, only good for Removing

ComboFix   =   Should **ONLY** be used if you think you have a heavy Hijacker or Trojan

Spybot S&D = Has made it back to the top of the chain,  Protecting Hosts files from getting Jacked up and does a damn good job of cleaning

SmitFraud Fix  =  If you have another bug you wish to fix,  only works for    (XP and Vista  32bit)

Windows Installer Clean up  =  to Remove those programs You cannot remove in the Control Panel, very good tool

-------------------------------------

Some may think that Norton is nonsense but it is only how you decide to take care of your PC.   If you don't want to believe any of this, you don't have to, but just think, without this knowledge, you might not have a good computer running.
