that defeats the purpose of real time protection, by the time you scan you could already have to trojan or virus, you should use avasts real time protection scanner.

You are right..but wht if avast can't pick up some viruses and malaware? Just to be sure i keep the  real time protection scanner and after i run AVG..but thts just me of course :)

also, some things scanners pick up as trojans or viruses really aren't, just to let you know.

and i heard Windows Live One Care or whatever its called for vista works good. the dude at circuit city recomended it for Vista computers that are fast


I had Windows LiveOne Care for a while it was pretty cool. Worked good for me.

I use Mcafee, don't know of any others.

I also tried to remove Mcafee but it's not working, even for the administrator.

I would have to figure out how to remove Mcafee first, hopefully i don't have to re-format my whole computer. I spent over 3 hours trying to figure out how to remove it.
