lol i have a comp issue, my game keeps crashing everytime i play it

well when i crashes the game freeze and u cant see it but on my desktop and error box appears sayin halo has preformed and illegal operation and will now close, so when it freezes i juss press enter and it closes, and when i try to play halo again it says Ddhelp or something has preformed a blah blah blah...

And other times when it crashes i try to walk and it closes.

ya soo its very very messed, but the odd thing is it werks for like 4 hours 1 day and 5 mins another

I could try that but when it crashes i dont see anything. All i hear is my desktop theme which is wave.... when the i assume the error box comes up. I could try alt+tab to see but i doubt it.

Hey Sonic,

Sometimes when memory is low, im speaking of RAM which is Random Access Memory, illegal errors will appear.

The way a computer works is that it copies images that are displayed into your RAM then onto your screen.

If you have insuffiecent RAM, it will affect your PC mostly when you play HI DETAILED games.

to check you ram
click start button
click accessories
click system tools
click System Info
Look under Total Physical Memory = RAM
Available Physical Memory = What memory you have to work with

if its under 30 you computer will stall
and crash. Mostly if you have sp2 for XP

Also, you may want to check you Hard Drive for ERRORS.
It might also be a NON-MACRO virus which affects your registry files, very nasty.

When you start your computer. Repeatdly push f8 and go into safe mode
this will LOAD all BASIC Drivers into memory and then log in and restart.

If any drivers were missing, it will reload it.

Well im working with 256mb of ram so that cant be the problem, i have norton 2005 and its all updated so i cant have a virus. soo......

Actually, Sonic... if you're running XP SP2 -regardless of what Microsoft says- 256meg is the MINIMUM that XP will run with (run ok, that is). RAM is cheap enough that you should try and get at least 512meg into the machine. None of mine have less than a gig of RAM, and all work exceedingly well at running both XP Home & XP Pro.

If you get a chance, pop a stick of 512meg into your machine.

a much easier way to find out your computers stats is to use direct x diagnostic tool...
1) click start, go to run
2) type in dxdiag then press enter
3) click yes to the popup box and then another window will appear with your system infromation

also ram has nothing to do with illegal errors...unless his graphics card is integrated which meens that his graphics card doesnt have any ram of its own and tries to use the normal system ram instead...but integrated graphics are usually only in laptops since to be integrated it must be soddered directly onto the motherboard. so it might be that your graphics card is the problem, because when i run halo on my laptop... it only takes up around half of my memory (i have an Intel integrated graphics card) and it still runs halo fine and i can run a bunch of other programs in the backround at the same time.

Had that issue. I had a hard drive that was going bad, and a corrupt op system. Try reinstall of op system, and back up data to disk or spare hard drive!

um YES i have a prablem with my computor every time i play HALO at the end of every game it says i am in 1st and i have most kills i have even tried playing agianst good almost good players like KID, and FOG, and WILD, and all the rest of {PR}, can some please HELP ME????

Okay im having a problem with Teamspeak and Halo.

When i open teamspeak i get a error coming up on my screen saying Exception! Gathering exception data and blah blah

I dont know why.. This happened when i had some other stuff running too..

But i dont get why its doing it to Teamspeak.. I can have Winamp running.. And it wouldent do anything..

But this is the only reason why i cant get on TS with you guys when i play Halo.. I always have to get off and get on TS..

I have reinstalled.. Reformatted..(2x) And still it wont go away.. Im not sure if its the crappy sound card like Deadman said cause what would the soundcard have to do with a Error with Halo?

Well thats it.. For now unless i screw up my comp somemore..

It could possibly be ur sound card ! Also did u have anything running in the background when u installed TS? If u r using Dial -up it wont work, this is why val and skieth do not get on TS.

Did you say that you bought a sound card?

Dead had to buy a sound card in order to get it going.

You can get a sound card for like $30 and is easy to put in.

Now did you buy a new sound card?
Your comp has a built in sound and video cards.
If you buy a $30 sound card, this will cure your promblem.

This is not ahs hard to install as you would think.
Just talk to the guy at the store adn see if he can give and advice.

Try resetting your modem. Unplug it and hit the reset button.

ok MY MOD MAPS DONT WORK i tried redownloading them and thay did the same thing when i launch halo with them in it just goes to the big halo part that says HALO and then iit stays ontell i do Ctrl+Alt+Delete

this only happens with the mod maps it has happend once before when i first got the mod maps so i redownloaded them and then it worked. but time not so lucky

I's like to add to CON's previous post about no-one being able to join my servers, which really frankly is not funny. I've had DAT, ACE, Con and others to try to get on, but to no sucess. It was fine b4 i started up the rcon. Any help pls?

Alrighty, check this one out:
I can't get many halo servers. Maybe 50 tops. It just conks out after a second or two of server loading. After a while, I just reinstalled halo, and it works fine. I reload the mod maps to play on the mod server, and it's same old again. So, either this is a freaky coincedence, or the mod maps are screwing with my Halo.

1) Why are the maps doin that?
2) If they arent, what is?
3) In the meantime, can somebody give mr the server IPs?

This would be a game spy thing. IF happends from time to time.
